Oh my word, I am wiped out!!!! My mental health is suffering!
There has been so much fighting friends; I mean SOOOOOOO much! And lots of disobedience and noise and mess and touching and calling my name!!!!!! I am waving the white flag.
I feel so done!
Overwhelmed.
Overstimulated.
Over it. Just simply over it all.
So, instead of staying mindful and choosing to make healthy choices that help me keep my head on my shoulders, guess what I do…
Check my Instagram account for the umpteenth time tonight.
Make countless trips to the fridge to stuff my face with cheese.
Search down on my knees for that chocolate I swear I hid in a cabinet.
Yell at the kids from the other room to get it together.
Stare at my to-do list and walk away.
And finally… contemplate just burnin’ it all down and starting new the next day.
Why Is It So Hard Make Healthy Choices?
Why as moms is it so hard to keep ourselves healthy mentally? It seems impossible to take care of ourselves. We reach a point of breaking, yet we keep pushing through. I know what helps me when things become too much…
Step into another room to refocus.
Sneak away for a holy pause.
Take deep breaths.
Allow myself a time out to read or watch a show.
Take things off my to-do list that do not matter.
Sit and meditate a few moments.
But instead, I run to cheese and chocolate and wine and social media. BUT NO MORE!!!!
I am committing to putting down the darn cheese and phone. I will choose something that will actually be soul giving. Something that will help me self regulate and be healthy in a hard moment.
