Lights, Animals and Holiday Spirit! Celebrate holiday cheer during Electric Safari with 85 light sculptures on over 50 acres! Warming fires throughout the Zoo offer a reprieve from the chill, as do select indoor animal exhibits that remain open during the event. Top off this astounding display by gazing out at the city’s lights and watch all of Colorado Springs sparkle. Santa is here too, nightly through December 23

They are partnering with Crossfire Ministries, a local nonprofit organization helping homeless families in Colorado Springs, CO.

They would love to collect items to bring the cheer of Christmas to those in need. Their biggest need is items for boy and girl teens such as: sports items & balls, make-up, cologne/perfume, hand held games, ear buds, clothes & blankets travel games, Art supplies toothpaste & toothbrushes, or non-perishable food items.

Details: Santa Claus is coming to town! Come enjoy a COMPLETELY NEW EXPERIENCE with Santa Claus and his elves as you take the Cog Railway and learn the story of Santa on Pikes Peak. This 45 minute round trip will not take you to the top of Pikes Peak, but will take you 2 miles up our tracks to the historic Minnehaha Siding. On your way up, you will get to ride the train with some of Santa’s elves and learn the story of Santa Claus on the mountain! You will stay on the train for Santa’s story and take the ride back to the Depot with hot chocolate and cookies! When you get back to the Depot, you will be welcomed by Santa and his elves at the North Pole! There will be music, activities, gifts, and an opportunity to visit with Santa. Don’t forget to bring your cameras because this is a trip you won’t soon forget! Make sure to dress warmly. When you return, children will be given a small gift bag from Santa.

Details: Experience the train that takes you to meet Santa Claus himself! The Santa Express Train is a winter wonderland, where children of all ages are encouraged to wear cozy pajamas and relax with family and friends on a journey you’ll treasure year after year. On the way to the North Pole, Christmas music, Red Vests, and Servers will keep your family entertained, while you nibble on cookies and sip hot cocoa. Approximately 30 minutes into your ride the Santa Express Train reaches the North Pole in the Royal Gorge where Santa and his special Elves board the train to pass out a special holiday bell to each ticketed child as he makes his way through.
