Our Family Favorites at Costco

2

A few years ago, my husband insisted that we get a Costco Membership.  As a family of 3 (soon to be 4) at the time, it didn’t seem to me that we needed to buy items in bulk.  We went to visit Costco one time, and left with a membership.  I have been a fan ever since.  The selection of quality brands and organic foods is amazing.  We find great deals on household items and clothing.  Everyone in our family loves their samples!  Needless to say, Costco is now the first place we go several times a month for the items we love.

I asked our Contributor Team to help with a list of their family favorites, and they lined up with ours as well (which makes me feel like we are a normal family!).  Below is our top finds at Costco.

  1. Produce :: The grapes are always so crunchy at Costco!  The produce section is fabulous for berries, apples, avocados, cucumbers, sweet baby peppers, seasonal fruits and veggies.  The list goes on.  The prices are great for organic as well.  (and we love the Kale Salad that comes in big bag — great to have on hand for quick entertaining!)
  2. Snacks ::  From the Kirkland Signature Applesauce Pouches and Happy Tot Fruit/Veggie Pouches to the giant box of Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars, you will find a great selection of healthier snacks for your kids (and for you too!).  I personally love having a full pantry of healthy, convenient choices for the never ending question, “Mom, can I have a snack?”
  3. Meats ::  A few specific suggestions from our contributors: the nitrite free bacon and the seasoned ribs are favorites among the team.  We also love the grass fed beef, ground bison, and any of their steaks.  The organic prices are as good or lower than competitors.
  4. Paper Products :: another great thing to stock up on.  From paper towels and toilet paper to plates, bowls and cutlery, it is really convenient to have these things on hand and not break the bank in the process.
  5. Cleaning Items :: Laundry detergent (we love the Kirkland Signature), dishwasher detergent, and household green cleaners.
  6. Cheese :: The goat cheese is the best deal in town.  We also love the string cheese and the Mini Babybels for packing lunches.
  7. Diapers & Wipes :: Again…it is really nice to have these on hand.  Trips to the store at midnight or running errands with one diaper left (come on…surely I’m not the only one!!) is the worst.  We love the Kirkland Signature brand again.  Price per diaper/pull up/wipe is hard to beat!
  8. Fuel :: Great prices, great service and very convenient.Costco Gasoline

This list could literally go on and on.  I most likely haven’t even scratched the surface.  There are also great deals on Coconut Oil and Avocado Oil, mixed nuts, cashews, almonds, yogurt, cereal, pantry essentials, spices, books, clothing and random things like mums in the fall and wrapping paper at Christmas time!  Like I said…the list goes on…

And for good measure, here are a few more reasons to shop at Costco:

  • Kirkland Signature products are rated higher than most leading brands.
  • Free demos and samples on a daily basis.
  • Costco is leading the nation in organic sales.

  • They offer a 100-percent member satisfaction guarantee. We will refund your membership if at any time you are not satisfied.

Tonya
Tonya grew up in Iowa and attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she majored in Health Promotion (the degree you choose when you know are meant to make an impact but you don’t know exactly how) After graduating in 2003, her adventurous spirit lead her to pack up her little car and move to Colorado Springs. Her heart was easily won by the beautiful landscape, the amazing weather, colorful Aspen trees, and the fabulous people in this city. In 2008, she married her love and best friend, Ryan. They added two amazing boys to the family…Landon (2009) and Kellan (2011). After a rewarding career as a Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and a sales representative for Pfizer, her heart desired more time with her boys. In 2011, she became a work from home mom, focusing on her very busy boys full time and her health and wellness coaching business part time! Her passion as a mom includes building legos, trips to the zoo, family hikes, fishing, and camping. Her passion as a health coach is helping people see their potential, reach goals, and lead a healthy lifestyle. In her spare time (what is that again??), she loves working out, running, and reading. Her favorite things to do with her handsome hubby include riding bikes downtown Colorado Springs for date nights, hiking the incline, trying new (exotic) foods, spending time with great (adult) friends, and trying craft beers (inspired of course by her husband!).
