We are thankful to SafeSplash Swim School for this sponsored post. But the thoughts & feelings are our own and we only share companies that we personally know & love!
From an early age, my sons have loved water. Bath time? Never a problem. Splashing around in our kiddie pool out back? They were all in. When my firstborn was two, we signed him up for swim lessons at our gym. At the time, he was more interested in discussing Curious George with the instructor than he was with actually swimming. Since we weren’t interested in paying money for him to recount a monkey’s mischievous antics, we stopped and decided just to teach him ourselves because how hard could it be? Harder than we realized. That’s when we turned to the pros at SafeSplash Swim School.
Registration Process:
You know how sometimes you can fill out a questionnaire or registration form only to be contacted by someone weeks after you filled it out? (and sometimes by that time you’ve forgotten about it) Well, SafeSplash was the exact opposite of this. I filled out this registration form, clicked submit, and was contacted within three hours. The process could not have been easier, and hearing back so quickly from them gave me a positive impression of the organization right from the start.
The Facilities:
Upon entering SafeSplash, we were shown around the facilities and handed some papers to review and sign. First impressions are big for me (and probably most people), and I instantly noted the cleanliness and orderliness of everything. Parents were sitting on benches watching their children swim (from behind a glass partition), a movie was playing off to the side for siblings or waiting children, and the staff were friendly and eager to answer questions. The staff organized their time so well that my sons’ lessons started and ended on time every single day. I was truly amazed.
Lessons:
Some lessons at SafeSplash have a 1:1 ratio of staff to students, and none exceed a 1:4 ratio, which was a perfect ratio for my boys. A lifeguard was also present at the pool, scanning it the entire time to make sure that all students were safe. The instructors taught each lesson based on a lesson plan they had located inside a plastic page protector. Instructors gave directions to the students and then provided each child with a chance to practice the skill. While working with a child one-on-one, each instructor (I watched them all…not just the two with my boys.) still kept an eye on the remaining children waiting for their turn, making sure that they were all staying safe and not wandering away from their seat along the side of the pool.
During one of my sons’ lessons, they reserved the last five minutes of the lesson for a Splash-N-Tell time where the instructor briefly told each parent the progress of his or her child. I was told that my older son would be ready to move on to the next level in two lessons! I was ecstatic! What I had been trying to do for months was accomplished in just two weeks at SafeSplash!
Final Thoughts
To say that my husband and I were thrilled at our children’s progress in just four lessons would be an understatement. We plan to resume lessons in the Fall once our school routine is a bit more set and cannot wait to see the growth and confidence in the water that they will experience with each additional lesson.
If you are looking for a swim school to really teach your child water safety and swimming skills, SafeSplash is the place for you. They have locations all over the country, and Colorado Springs is lucky to have two of them! Try them out with a free trial lesson, and if you are military, they are currently offering a 25% discount to military families!
Love this review, thanks for all the great info! I need to have my kiddos learn to actually swim. My two year old thinks she can swim on her own, and my one year isn’t a huge fan of the water…yet!
So fun! We’ve had a similar positive experience there! Love SafeSplash!
