The Classical Academy (TCA) is the largest K—12th grade charter school in Colorado. Launched in 1997 with 400 students, TCA currently enrolls 3700+ students on three campuses in seven programs. TCA alone is larger than 75% of the public school districts in Colorado. In 2012 the Colorado Department of Education awarded every TCA school (elementary, junior high, and high school) the John Irwin Award for Academic Excellence—an award given to schools that demonstrate excellent academic achievement.
