The Gift of History Family Fun Day, on Saturday, August 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. features free, family-friendly activity booths, performances and workshops. Discover how the Museum and our community partners provide the gift of history!
• Enjoy indoor puppet shows presented by Bear Creek Nature Center at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm
• Color and learn about architecture with the McAllister House Museum
• Design a coin with the American Numismatic Association
• Explore the history of dogs with National Mill Dog Rescue
• Learn the history of North Cheyenne Cañon Park though games and activities
• Enjoy a variety of children’s activities with Pikes Peak Library District
• Immerse yourself in history with Pikes Peak Library District’s green screen photo booth featuring images from their Special Collections
• Make a paper bag horse puppet with the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame
• Practice “typesetting” and learn the history of the Union Printers Home
• Play games and check out Olympic torches with the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum
• Enjoy a photo booth, activities, and even a race car with the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb
• Explore CSPM exhibits, share your story through a game of “Connect 4,” and take on the #IAMCOS scavenger hunt challenge
• Pack a picnic or grab lunch at one of our food truck offerings on the museum grounds
