In Colorado Springs, we have many great restaurants, bars, and hiking, but what else?

Here are some fun ideas to consider for your next moms’ night out in Colorado Springs:

Painting and/or Crafting

There are many great venues In Colorado Springs for those who love to paint, craft, or just want to have fun and be creative. Here are some specific places to consider:

Painting with a Twist

They have a weekly schedule of paintings you can sign up for or you can book your own party and pick the painting you want! They have multiple locations in Colorado Springs.

Canvas Creations

At Canvass Creations you can have a paint and sip party at their venue in Broadmoor Bluffs or they can come to you. A minimum of 5 people per party and you can choose your own painting.

Brush Crazy

They are unique in that everyone can choose their own project, not just an overall theme. Walk in any time they are open, shop oline or book an event. They have so many fun options ranging from paint canvas, ceramic pottery, to wood signs.

Board and Brush

They also go beyond painting to making personalized wood signs. You can use sandpaper, power tools, wax, and other elements to make amazing wood signs. Experience is not needed as they will walk you through your project.

Pinspiration

Pinspiration’s studio allows customers access to a variety of high-quality art supplies and tools. The Pinspiration staff provide the tools, materials and a clean, inviting and inspiring place to put it all together. Customers can create their own idea on the spot or they can choose from an array of ever-changing monthly project menus based on the most popular “pinned” social media projects and current craft trends. Bad Axe Throwing

Bad Axe offers the option to bring your own food at the Colorado Springs location next to Palmer Park. They serve wine and beer and provide both axe and knife throwing. This venue provides walk in hours and booking hours for parties.

Primal Axe House

They are a rustic operation on South Platte River Dr. The schedule offers walk in times and you can also schedule private parties. Primal Axe House also offers a full alcohol and food menu.

Gaming

If you prefer a venue that offers role playing, board games, or card games such as Magic the Gathering, this next section is for you.

Dungeons and Javas

This venue offers coffee, crafted drinks and games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Werewolf, Vampire, Magic the Gathering, etc. You can look over their weekly schedule of games or bring your own games in a comfortable place with great drinks.

Petrie’s Family Games

Another place to gather and play various games. Like Dungeons and Javas, they offer a schedule of games you can play like Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, Dungeons & Dragons, etc. They also have a Board Game Night that would be fun to explore.

Cooking Classes

If you love to cook or want to learn to love to cook, here are some local ideas on fun classes to learn a specific dish and wow your family and friends.

Gather Food Studio and Spices

They offer a comfortable atmosphere and classes for any need on West Colorado Avenue. Whether you want laughter or classic techniques, they offer a variety of choices. They offer both in store and virtual classes. You can contact them with any dietary restrictions, and they will make accommodations. Look over their monthly classes.

Thai Eats Workshops

Create beautiful Thai cuisine in Meaw’s beautiful Thai Kitchen in Colorado Springs. She offers four course cooking classes that usually take about 2 hours. You can choose from their menu of options on what you want to learn.

Cocina Corazon Mexican Food Classes

Cooking sessions include two options: signature or traditional dishes from specific regions of Mexico. Almost all the dishes can be prepared to fit any diet from vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free, etc. Each class can be 2-4 hours depending on the dish chosen. A minimum of 6 people per class.

The French Kitchen Culinary Center

The French Kitchen offer classes for kids, teens, and adults. Their philosophy is that everyone should be able to experience the joys of French cooking. Perfect for a moms’ night out, as they propose that all recipes should be as enjoyable as they are doable. Each class is 1-5 hours, depending on the dish.

Polkadots and Curry

Monika Celly offers a variety of classes from Indian, Ayurvedic, and wellness cooking classes. She can accommodate a variety of needs such as vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, cooking for diabetes etc. Each class is about 90-120 minutes per class, depending on the chosen menu. She is located in the Briargate area.

Line Dancing

For another more physically stimulating activity, here are some fun country dancing options in the Springs with line dance classes offered. You can enjoy dancing with someone you don’t have to carry or steps on your toes all the time.

Whiskey Baron Dance Hall

Located at 5781 North Academy in the Erindale shopping center, they offer line dancing lessons on Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Thursday is ladies’ night out with free cover charge. Fridays are Freedom Fridays where servicemen and first responders get a free drink token.

Cowboys

They offer line dancing, pool tables, skee ball and a mechanical bull. They also have a food and drink menu. Line dance lessons are the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. All ages are welcome with no cover. The doors for the lessons open at 3 pm with single line dancing lessons from 3:30-4:30 and couple dancing from 5-7 pm.

Escape Games

If line dancing lessons doesn’t sound fun, escape rooms are another option. An escape game is a live situation room where participants must find clues, solve puzzles and use their collective knowledge and wit to escape a themed room within 60-90 minutes. Escape games are the newest craze sweeping the nation.

Locked in Escapes

They offer a variety of rooms you can peruse on their websites that last 60 minutes. At the moment, they are offering Virtual Adventures Only Escape rooms.  This is where you follow a group in the escape room via computer. You hear the clues and tell them what to do to try to escape. They will also offer Murder Mysteries in the future.

AHA Escape Rooms

They are a sister company to Locked in Escapes and offer a variety of 60-minute rooms. Their pricing is tiered depending on how many people you have in your group.

21 Keys Escape Rooms

They consider their rooms to be challenging for adults. Each room is about 60 minutes, and they have a variety to choose from.

Escape the Place

Escape The Place was founded in 2015 by Captain C.J. Thomson (U.S. Air Force). It was the first escape room establishment in Colorado Springs and continues to distinguish itself with 5 distinct and challenging escape scenarios. This is an all-age venue with a variety of rooms about 60 minutes.

Escaped in Time

They offer a variety of rooms that run 60 or 90 minutes. All rooms at Escaped In Time have multiple challenges for your team: pull the story together, solve the mystery, and of course, escape.

Mysteries Dinner Theater

If escape rooms are not to your liking, check out some murder mystery options.

The Dinner Detectives

This dinner theater has various locations in Colorado Springs and can be reached at (866) 496-0535. They boast that their actors are not in costume but hidden among the guests. Solve a hilarious mystery while you feast on a fantastic dinner. The culprit is hiding in plain sight somewhere in the room, and you may find yourself as a Prime Suspect before you know it.

Red Herring Productions
