Spring has nearly arrived in Southern Colorado, which means it is time to think ahead to summer camps. Early registration has begun for most programs, so we compiled this Guide to Summer Camps in and around Colorado Springs to help you plan. This list covers everything from outdoor adventures to dance, sports, and art. We recognize many moms spend extensive amounts of time piecing together week-to-week activities for the summer. We hope this guide is a helpful one-stop shop for all your summer camp wishes!

Pikes Peak Athletics

Pikes Peak Athletics offers swim camps geared toward achieving comfort and safety in and around the water. These popular camps take place during the work week Monday-Friday and are offered to all levels of swimmers, age 4-12 years old. Each day, campers will engage in lessons focused on learning and repeating skills in the water as well as basic water safety. Campers will also enjoy interactive deck games and free swim with their new friends as we know social skills and comfort in and around the water are important too! All swimmers that register two weeks prior to the summer camps will receive a t-shirt at the beginning of the week.

Spring Break Camp: Monday, March 22 – Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 8:30am-12:30pm. Choose 1-4 days to participate | $70 per day or a new offering including Flipshack from 12:30pm-3:30pm for $210 (must attend all 4 days for PM camp).

UCCS Campus Recreation

The Mountain Lion Camp offers campers a wide variety of activities each day! Campers will have time to swim in our aquatic center. Rock climb on our 27-foot rock wall! Play group activity games in the gym and outdoor play on the UCCS Alpine Field. Campers will also have the opportunity to participate in creative crafts. Our Mountain Lion Camp is run by UCCS Recreation Professional full-time Staff and UCCS Recreation Student Camp Counselors. Our team can assure you that your child(ren) will have an excellent summer camp experience!

Session 2: July 26 – July 30
Camper Age Range: Ages 6-12

The Outdoor Adventure Camp (OAC) will offer campers the opportunity to dive into a variety of outdoor adventure and extreme sports. The camp will be led by experienced outdoor educators who will ensure a fun, safe, and dynamic atmosphere each day for our participants. The OAC will venture off the UCCS Campus most days (weather pending) and explore all the unique outdoor recreation offerings in our area. Signature camp trips include outdoor rock climbing, paddle boarding, hiking, fishing, and more. As part of the Outdoor Adventure Camp, participants can also expect daily time in the pool and daily climbing at the Student Outdoor Learning Experience climbing wall.

Camp Dates:
Session 1: July 19 – July 22

This camps features a mix of both outdoor sport activities such as outdoor rock climbing, paddle boarding, and hiking but will also include additional tourist type activities such as visiting the zoo, taking a mine tour, or other local attractions.

Space Foundation Discovery Center

Summer of Discovery: Science of Sport

Space Foundation Discovery Center is gearing up for another summer of fun, inspirational and educational workshops and activities focused on the Science of Sport. We might not all be astronauts going to the Moon, but we use space science and technology every day on Earth through the lens of sports and more.

Discovery Center is going to have a summer full of family friendly activities perfect for all ages, starting every Saturday in June 2021. We are a clean, safe space for you and your family to learn about our universe and science all year long.

Kids on Bikes

Let your kids experience joy and freedom riding a bicycle this summer with Kids on Bikes! Whether your child is learning to ride, looking to advance their mountain biking skills, or wants to explore the city, we have a camp for them!

Multiple Monday through Friday day-camps occur each week from May 24th through August 6th. Learning to Ride and Explorers camps for newer riders run from 9am-11:30am, while our Mountain Biking Levels 1 through 5 and Urban Trails meets from 9am-3pm.

Locations include neighborhood parks throughout Colorado Springs as well as exciting destinations like Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Ute Valley, Stratton Open Space, Bear Creek Park, and more! Your registration helps fund earn-a-bike programs and other initiatives across Colorado Springs. Scholarships are available!

Camp Whiskers & Wags

Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region’s summer day camp is for children ages 7-15 years old and helps foster compassion and respect for animals! Camps include age-appropriate and engaging activities, educational and interactive lessons, and daily hands-on visits with animals of all shapes and sizes. Masks are required. Camp registration will open March 1st, 2021

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers summer camp adventures that share the wonders of wildlife and wild places in fun and exciting ways. Campers meet animals up-close, explore the outdoors, interact with keepers, make treats for the animals, design cool crafts and more!

Soccer Buddies

Kick off your Summer right with Soccer Buddies camps for kids ages 4 to 12 years old!

We have different day camps around the city at different parks. Your child will have a blast at our outrageously FUN day camps! Kids get great exercise while parents get time to themselves with our drop-off camps. Our high-energy coaches will take your child on a roller coaster of FUN while we develop their soccer skills and their love for physical fitness. We make it easy for parents with our drop-off program, pay by the day options, and flexible scheduling.

Academy of Children's Theatre

Join the Academy of Children’s theatre (ACT) this summer for a fantastic theatre experience. Your student will learn new skills, enjoy fun improvisational games, as well as perform at the end of the week! In order for students to enjoy camp with others their age, we have specific camps for each age group: Ages 4-Kindergarten, Grades 1-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12 (High School). Weekly camps run throughout the summer. Don’t miss out! Camps fill up quickly, so register today!

Hours: 9:00-11:30 am (half-day) or 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (full-day)
Cost: $175 for half-day camps and $285 for full-day camps.
