Are you staying in the Colorado Springs area for Spring Break this year? Sometimes, it is nice to have a break to explore your own backyard and take advantage of this city. Spring in Southern Colorado holds so much potential – from activities outside to fun Spring Break Camps.  This guide will help you navigate your Spring Break no matter the weather.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo: Open 9 AM – 4 PM

Garden of the Gods: Visitor Center open from 9 AM – 5 PM

Manitou Springs Penny Arcade: Open 11 AM – 5 PM, only open when temps are 50 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.

Bishop Castle: Three full stories of interior rooms complete with a Grand Ballroom, soaring towers and bridges with vistas of a hundred miles, and a Fire-Breathing Dragon make the Bishop Castle quite the unforgettable experience! Visitors are always welcome free of charge, and the castle itself is always open.

Paint Mines Interpretive Park: The Paint Mines Interpretive Park is located in the northeast section of the County near Calhan with approximately 750 acres. The park includes a restroom facility, four miles of trails, interpretive signage, and many natural wonders.

Mueller State Park: Be sure to check out a Family Adventure Backpack at the Visitor’s Center.

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park: Open 8 AM – 5 PM

Battlefield Colorado: Outdoor Laser Tag Adventure Park for ages 7+.

City Rock CLIMBarium Open Gym: Monday-Friday from 11am-1pm. This open gym time is for children 5 and under. $6 per child (18 months and under free with paid sibling). 21 N Nevada Ave, Colorado Springs.

The Boo Hoo CrewBop till you drop to the music of Clint Perry and the Boo Hoo Crew, featuring their new album: Let’s Dance! This is a lively music and movement program for all ages. No registration Required. At Library 21C on Tuesday, March 26th from 10 Am – 12 PM and East Library on Wednesday, March 27th from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM. 

Inspector Magic at East Library: Kapow! This event is going to be a BLAST! Inspector Magic introduces us to historical heroes in this highly-energized, interactive program with just the right mix of comedy, magic and learning to keep everyone entertained. Age 3 – 12. Thursday, March 28th from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM.

Meet a Local Firefighter at Library 21C: See a firefighter up close and personal! Firefighters from CSFD or Tri-Lakes will be teaching about fire safety and answering questions.  If trucks are not on call, they will be present! Age 3 – 12. Friday, March 29th from 2 PM – 3 PM. 

Finding Nemo Interactive Movie Series at Old Colorado City Library: Come join us for a special showing of Finding Nemo on Tuesday and Finding Dory on Wednesday. Light refreshments provided and crafts at you leisure. Ages 8-18. 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM.

Spring Break Escape Room at Sand Creek: Tweens and Teens (ages 9-14) are invited to participate in the Escape Room, Glacial Treasures. Friday, March 29th from 3 PM – 4 PM.

USAF Planetarium: Shows are offered to the public, Monday-Friday, at 12:30 pm. No tickets or reservations are required. These shows are available on a first come, first served basis.

Zumbini Trial Class: Designed for children ages 0-4, and their caregivers, Zumbini combines music and movement to create the ultimate bonding experience! Tickets are $10, please RSVP. Friday, March 29th from 4:00 – 4:45 PM.

Michaels Spring Make: Various activities for various age groups. All activities have a small cost. 

Great Wolf Lodge Spring-A-Palooza Suite: Spring-A-Palooza Themed Suites feature bright colors, blooming flowers, and a blossoming spring tree.

D1 Training Spring Break Camp: Monday, March 25th – Thursday, March 28th from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM And/Or 12:00 PM – 3:30 PM. Morning camp includes soccer and football. Afternoon camp includes baseball and softball. Cost: $199 (Half Day), $299 (Full Day)

Spring Break Swim Camp: Monday, March 25th – Thursday, March 28th from 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM and 1:45 PM – 2:45 PM. Sessions for all levels – Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.  Cost: $150/Session.

Springs Adventure Park Day Camp: Monday, March 25th – Thursday, March 28th from 9 AM – 3 PM. Trampolines & Ninja Warrior.Dodgeball & Slam Ball. Stunt Bag & WipeOUT Battle. Joust & Team Games and more! For ages 6-12. Cost: $120

Spring Break Classes at Toy Crossing: Monday, March 25th – Friday, March 29th. Various Class & Various Times. Classes range from veterinary science and tie-dye to simple circuits and soap science plus much more. Cost: $12/90 min. class. 

Spring Break at US Taekwondo Center: Monday, March 25th – Friday, March 29th. 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Half Day) 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Full Day). Students will receive a free uniform, learn Taekwondo, make crafts, have snacks, watch movies and play fun games! Ages 5 and up only. Cost: $115 (Half Day), $200 (Full Day).

Unicorn Art Camp at Painting with a Twist (Powers): Wednesday, March 27th – Friday, March 29th from 9 AM – 12 PM. Bring in the kids for a 3-day *UNICORN CAMP* for children ages 5 to 14 years old. Kids will complete unicorn-themed paintings each day, plus other special unicorn-themed crafts and projects. Cost: $125 Full Camp or $45/Day. 

Kid’s Baking Academy at Crafted Colorado: Monday, March 25th – Friday, March 29th from 10 AM – 12 PM. This is a five-day course designed to teach the basics of baking and candy making – at a kids level (ages 6-10 approximately). We will make cookies, cupcakes, caramels, marshmallows, brittles/toffee, truffles, etc. Cost: $216.50.

Spring Break Climbing Camp at CityRock: Monday, March 25th – Friday, March 29th from 9 AM – 12 PM OR 12:30 PM – 3:30 PM. Adventurous campers will learn the basics of rock climbing and explore our unique subterranean artificial cave. Campers stay physically and mentally active, make new friends, boost their confidence, and create lasting memories. Cost: $59/Day.

Build Workshop at The Twine Lab: Tuesday, March 26th – Wednesday, March 27th from 9 AM – 12 PM. Over the course of two sessions, kids will learn how to use simple hand tools to create and build an animal house for your backyard. Cost: $95.00

Spring Break at Deerfield Hills Community Center: Monday, March 25th – Friday, March 29th from 8 AM – 6 PM. Includes 2 Field Trips to Miller Activity Complex and Jungle Quest. Cost: $75/Child.

Spring Break at Hillside Community Center: Monday, March 25th – Friday, March 29th from 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM. Includes 3 Field Trips to Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Woodland Park Aquatic Center and The Picture Show at Citadel Crossing. Cost: $95/Child.
