The Colorado Springs Guide to Adolescent Health

0

About one out of five adolescents has a diagnosable mental health disorder. Although issues among this age group are common, navigating teen mental health and finding the most suitable provider for your family can feel like a lonely and difficult journey.

We do not want you to have to walk it alone. That is why we thank the featured businesses for sponsoring the Colorado Springs Guide to Adolescent Health. We hope this guide will make your journey a bit easier. In the provider directory below, we have organized mental health providers by location, so that you can search for the clinics that are closest to your home or child’s school.

Is there a resource that we missed? Please mention it in the comments below. Are you a business interested in being a part of the guide? Please email our Resources Coordinator at [email protected].

EDCare

Knowing what to do and where to turn when your child has an eating disorder isn’t easy, and it’s important to know you have a resource in Colorado Springs to turn to for answers, support, and care. Established in 2001, EDCare is one of the nation’s foremost centers for the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders. Our gender-inclusive Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program (AIOP) gives teens, between the ages of 14-17, a safe and supportive environment to address their specific challenges and concerns. Each patient works with a dedicated team of interdisciplinary specialists who help them uncover and address issues and triggers that are at the root of their eating disorder. We also prioritize parent and family involvement throughout treatment because we believe it is critical to a healthy recovery for everyone. Our team utilizes an evidence-based curriculum paired with our unique and effective treatment model centered on empowering patients through Connection, Acceptance, Mindfulness, Sense of Self, and Action (CAMSA®).

This program is structured to fit easily into teens’ lives with evening programming, Monday through Thursday, allowing them to attend school while gaining critical coping and recovery skills. EDCare accepts coverage from over 30 different insurance providers, including Colorado Medicaid and TRICARE®. Let us help you and your family move toward a healthy and fulfilling future in our recently expanded center. The journey forward begins here.
