Rainy Day Fun in Colorado Springs

Where do you go in Colorado Springs when the weather isn’t so perfect?  I have rounded up a few of the best spots to go when Colorado summer isn’t giving us the perfect weather to play outside.  All of these suggestions will have the cost and the age(s) allowed, but on a few of the suggestions you will see “recommended age”.  This is my own recommendation based on my own or other’s experiences.

Here’s to a great summer, no matter what the weather may be!

Take your own yoga class while your kids learn Namaste at this donation based yoga studio. Registration required.

Cost: Suggested donation

Age: 5 – 11

Stay cool with the kids by taking a tour through the chilly caves at Cave of the Winds!

Cost: $10 – $20

Recommended Age: 5+

There is a height restriction for entry, similar to what you would see at a Chick-Fil-A play place.

Cost: $0

Recommended Age: 1 – 7

This is for kids aged 1 -6, though older children may play as well “if they are able to play nicely with the younger children” at this aquarium themed climbing area.

Cost: $6

Age: 1 – 6

Show the kids a little bit of Colorado history, and be sure to ask about their scavenger hunt for your little ones!

Recommended Age: 5+

Remember, if it is lightening outside, it is likely that open swim will be closed.  

Cost: $4 – $9

Age: All

Great for all ages!  They have a toddler play room, a larger play area for the children, and a big slide that even adults can go down!

Cost: $0

Recommended Age: 6m+

Visit Ghost Town Museum and see how it was created to preserve a piece of Colorado’s Wild West heritage.

Cost: $0 – $6

Recommended Age: 5+

Bouncy houses galore at this facility!  There is also a mini bouncy area just for toddlers!  

Cost: $0 – $10

Recommended Age: 1 – 12

Daily hands on activities.  Tinkering, dancing, sculpting, reading, robotics… use your imagination!

Cost: $0+

Age: All

There are a couple of very old arcade games that you can play with just a penny, but I would recommend bringing at least $5 to have about an hour of gaming.

Cost: $.25+

Recommended Age: 3+

Also known as Colorado Springs Bug Museum. Your bug loving children will love the colorful bug displays!

Cost: $0 – $6

Recommended Age: 4+

This miniature scale of an old fashioned town is complete with Michael Garman figures and miniature people moving in the town!

Cost: $5

Recommended Age: 5+

Drop the kids off Tuesdays from 10 AM – 12 PM at Paint the Town for a couple hours. They get to paint a picture while being read to!  Registration required.

Cost: $25

Age: 5 – 12

Take a free tour of Patsy’s Candies in Colorado Springs and see how Patsy’s makes their chocolates, toffee, and award winning taffy.

Cost: $0

Recommended Age: All

If you go on Tuesday, your movie is just $1, all other days are 1.75.

Cost: $1 – $1.75

Recommended Age: 2+

Super Kids Save the World is the new, hands-on exhibit that gives kids the power to go green.

Cost: $1 – $10

Recommended Age: 1+

The library regularly has free events for children of all ages, and don’t forget to sign your children up for the summer reading program!

Age: All

Cool down at the ice rink!

Cost: $2 – $10.50

Recommended Age: 2+

Your children will love this marionette theater!  They will be playing “The Old Man and the Mermaid”  beginning June 10th.

Cost: $14

Recommended Age: 3+

If your little ones have issues staying upright while skating at Skate City, rent a push walker to help them out!

Cost: $5

Recommended Age: 3+

My kids absolutely love the Trampoline Park!  Trampoline Park also has a designated toddler time on Fridays.  

Cost: $8 – $25

Recommended Age: 2+

Bring the kids on Tuesday or Wednesday morning to watch a pre-selected movie at the theater for just $1!

Cost: $1

Recommended Age: 2+

If your child loves gymnastics or is just naturally bouncy, this is the place for him or her!  

Cost: $10+

Recommended Age: 1+

Kids can bowl for free this summer as long as you click the link below!  If your kids aren’t big bowlers, take them to the arcade or play laser tag!

Age: 3+
