Summer Learning: Five Easy Ways to Fit Learning Into Your Summer

Every summer it happens: School ends and my kids and I get so excited about all the fun plans we have. Which is great! Until the end of July comes around, and I realize that I’ve not been intentional about summer learning.

Not anymore!

I want to be proactive with summer learning. I also want to recognize and acknowledge that some of our fun already has learning involved. My kids love to get in the kitchen with me. On its own, this incorporates math and reading as we measure and follow directions. A little planning and a small tweak, and we can practice even more skills while we double a recipe and all of the listed ingredients!

Kristal is a native of California, lived in Utah, and now lovingly calls Colorado Springs home. She grew up in a household with four younger siblings and graduated from University of California, Santa Cruz.
