Can you believe it is already almost Easter? Last year this time, the world started shutting down and I was determined to still make Easter special in our house even if we didn’t get to go to church in person, do egg hunts with friends, or get together with extended family.

One of the ways that I did that was by going all out on our Easter baskets. But with a 3 month old and a 20 month old, I wanted to do that without candy! I am not at all a no-candy-in-the-house mom. I love candy, I share it with my kids, and we value moderation when it comes to our eating habits, however there are so many other fun gifts to give besides sweets! Also I try to keep candy as something normal and occasional rather than something special & excessive around holidays. If you are trying to think of some things for your kiddos this year, here are some ideas:

#1 STUFFED ANIMALS

I always do some kind of plush bunny or doll or stuffed animal. My girls love their babies (any stuffed animal) so they always get so excited! Here are some favorite Easter-themed ones I found on Amazon:

#2 BOOKS

I always include a book too! My girls ADORE books! Here are some favorites that are Easter themed:

#3 FILLERS

Once I have a stuffed animal and a book, I just add extra fun things like:

  • Bubbles
  • Play-dough
  • Stickers / Tattoos
  • Markers/ Pens
  • Doll Clothes
  • Blankets
  • Trucks/ Cars
  • Sandbox Toys
  • Bathtub Toys
  • Bows
  • Sunglasses
  • Play Jewelry
  • Legos
  • Play Food
  • Water Bottle
  • Shoes
  • Pajamas

I don’t do all these things every time! I get the two big items and just fill in as needed. It is tempting to overfill the basket, but I try to make sure that everything actually fits in the Easter Basket and when I can’t add anymore, I stop!

And if you have older kids, fill free to add in some jelly beans and egg or two. There is no harm in that! Happy Easter basket creation this year!!

PS: The baskets are from Pottery Barn and the Name Tags are from Etsy!
